PAST THOUGHTS FROM Oct 2006

Weird Maryland Book Tour by Brian | Oct 25 2006

Don’t miss your chance to hang out with one of the coolest cats around, Matt Lake, and get him to personally autograph a copy of his great book, Weird Maryland, during a handful of book signings, talks and appearances in the region this October and November. The gang from A Curse Dot Com will be on hand for several of the events, so please show up and hang out!

Here’s the word straight from the horse’s (Matt’s) mouth:

"Here’s the most recent update to the Weird Words chat-and-scribble tour. If I’m in your town, swing on by for the event--or even better, join me for a coffee beforehand or a serious drink afterwards.

Also remember: I collect other people’s signatures in my own yearbook edition of each book I write. If you played any part in getting these things written, from actual submissions to moral support during the writing or promotion process, I want your name scrawled somewhere in it. I have the Sharpie and the book, all I need is you."

Cheers

Matt

What doesn't kill you... by Brian | Oct 17 2006

For any of you who may have been as unpleasantly surprised as we were during the last nine days, when we unexpectedly and undeservingly had our account terminated, welcome back.

Don’t worry, it wasn’t anything you did, we just had a problem with our hosting provider...a big problem. But that’s taken care of, we’ve got a new host with more firepower and we have more personal drive than ever.

That said, we lost more than 100 emails from our account here at A Curse Dot Com. Some were irrelevant spam we never got rid of, others were messages sent back and forth amongst ourselves, but many of them were from you - and now all are lost for good. As you may have already noticed, we also irrevocably lost our entire forum, which had about 200 posts at last count. The only way to proceed is to build back what we’ve lost.

So if you’re the guy who sent in the great pictures of the Druidic Trees in Baltimore, please send them and your interesting write-up back on over. If you’re the great-great-great-great grandson of the murdered Civil War soldier buried at the hidden Cedar Hill Cemetery in Havre de Grace, please email me back with the fascinating information you’ve tracked down that filled in some blanks in the tale. Our friend from the Enchanted Forest preservation group, we’ve lost your many letters, photos and address to stay in touch with you for any updates on our favorite abandoned theme park. To the brother of musician, artist and my deceased friend Aaron Huth, we had recently been in contact and I was very excited about getting of Aaron’s final music and artwork, so please find us again.

We also had some good friends in the forum who we’ve lost and have no way of contacting. To the Vietnam veteran who witnessed a buddy of his dragged off by some mystery ape during the overseas conflict, your stories were amazing and I’d love to hear them again. A couple of you were with local and regional ghost hunting and paranormal associations who posted regular updates on searches and events, you are welcomed back with open arms. Even the member who was certain foreign terrorists had hacked into United States orbiting satellites to brainwash the minds of our elected leaders, we miss you man.

Finally, if you’re an old friend or finding us for the first time, stick around we’ve got some great new investigations, events, merchandise and surprises planned.

And remember, what doesn’t kill you...
